Lemonade Date

Hi y'all,

I know I only started this blog a week ago, but I definitely want this to be a life+style type of lifestyle blog. In order to do that, y'all get real life posts!

Therefore, occasionally you'll see a "Lemonade Date" post. I can't have caffeine, but lemonade is definitely my guilty pleasure.

My biggest life announcement is I accepted a position to teach 5th grade! I'm so excited to FINALLY be doing what I love. I start Wednesday with New Teacher Orientation! I student taught in 5th grade as well, so I feel more prepared than if I was teaching a grade I had never worked with. If y'all know any good teaching blogs for 5th grade, leave me a link!

On top of accepting a position for teaching, I quit my retail job. I won't go into too much detail, but it was time.

I have a few days of "Funployment" if you can even really call it that. I've been getting some last minute stuff for my classroom and packing things up to move from the f…

Friday Five

Hi y'all,
I'm so excited to introduce the first Friday Five!

Since I'm not planning on posting but three days a week, I don't want to only do weekly type posts. However, I do want to make sure y'all know what I'm loving every week. One goal of mine is to have 1 piece per brand. Its no secret I love certain brands; however, I want to make sure I'm sharing the love.

1.Day Designer by Blue Sky Planner | I made the mistake of not buying a new planner because I thought the academic planner would no longer be important to me. I was wrong. The academic planner is a necessity (especially as a teacher). I definitely plan on doing a post about how I organize my planner soon.

2. Amazon FireStick | I bought this during Prime Day because my room doesn't have an ethernet connection and prior to the FireStick that was the only way I was going to get Netflix/Amazon Prime on my tv (it would go through my Blu-Ray Player). I'm so glad I bought this and I've used e…

Nine Potential New Member Sorority Recruitment Tips

Hi y'all!

August is quickly approaching, which for many means its back to school time. For college students elsewhere, it also means recruitment season is here!

My school did a spring recruitment (aka January); however, many schools, especially in the south, do recruitment in August and September.

If you're going through recruitment, congratulations!

I went through recruitment in two different ways (both formal and the colonization process) and then on the sister side! I went through part of recruitment my freshman year spring, got sick and couldn't finish. However, it worked out for the best because I got to join Alpha Delta Pi through the colonization process in September of my sophomore year.

Here are a few things to keep in mind.

1. Each house is different at every school. Did you hear about sorority XYZ at ABC University? Get that stereotype right out of your head. Every single house is different because different girls make up the chapter. I have friends that would t…

Well, I'm finally doing it: committing to blogging. Again. I'm super excited to be jumping back into the blogging world after a hiatus. I attempted to blog under some other names, but nothing felt right. So, I figured my own name would be the best way to keep a blog that I loved.

I'm Lindsey. I'm a 20-something elementary school teacher with a passion for sharing things about life. I originally started blogging back at the end of my senior year of high school, and continued through college. Post grad life made it hard to balance everything (mainly because I was working full time and going to school again). However, I know that I'm going to need this blog.
As of right now, I have accepted my first full time "big girl job" in the field I'm passionate about. I'm teaching 5th grade this year, and I'm so excited! Along with my first teaching job, I'm also going to be working in retail part time and I'm taking one grad class.

I'm stil…
