New Year's Goals

Hi y'all,
Happy 2019!

I've been thinking long and hard about what my goals are for 2019. Notice, I did not use the word resolution. I dislike the word resolution because there is no means to an end with resolution; however, with a goal, you can break it down into the things you have to accomplish to reach that goal.

1. Get a puppy
How to accomplish getting a puppy?
-Stay up on my savings each month
-Move by Late May/Early June.

2. Be ahead with my planning for school.
-Plan at least a week ahead.
-Have copies made if applicable.
-Plan/make copies during planning (not before or after school).
-Stay organized.

3. Be fitter.
-Workout 3x a week (use Beachbody account).
-Drink at least 64 oz. of water every day.
-Eat healthier.

What are your goals for this year? How are you accomplishing them?
xx,
Lindsey

Nine Potential New Member Sorority Recruitment Tips

Hi y'all!

August is quickly approaching, which for many means its back to school time. For college students elsewhere, it also means recruitment season is here!

My school did a spring recruitment (aka January); however, many schools, especially in the south, do recruitment in August and September.

If you're going through recruitment, congratulations!

I went through recruitment in two different ways (both formal and the colonization process) and then on the sister side! I went through part of recruitment my freshman year spring, got sick and couldn't finish. However, it worked out for the best because I got to join Alpha Delta Pi through the colonization process in September of my sophomore year.

Here are a few things to keep in mind.

1. Each house is different at every school. Did you hear about sorority XYZ at ABC University? Get that stereotype right out of your head. Every single house is different because different girls make up the chapter. I have friends that would t…

Welcome!

Hey!

Well, I'm finally doing it: committing to blogging. Again. I'm super excited to be jumping back into the blogging world after a hiatus. I attempted to blog under some other names, but nothing felt right. So, I figured my own name would be the best way to keep a blog that I loved.

I'm Lindsey. I'm a 20-something elementary school teacher with a passion for sharing things about life. I originally started blogging back at the end of my senior year of high school, and continued through college. Post grad life made it hard to balance everything (mainly because I was working full time and going to school again). However, I know that I'm going to need this blog.
As of right now, I have accepted my first full time "big girl job" in the field I'm passionate about. I'm teaching 5th grade this year, and I'm so excited! Along with my first teaching job, I'm also going to be working in retail part time and I'm taking one grad class.

I'm stil…
