Winter Fun!

Hi y'all,

January is always one of the months that I do not really look forward to. In college, I always wanted to since it meant recruitment for my sorority. However, in the real world; I do not look as forward to it. It's cold, grey, and non-motivating.

In Virginia, the real winter hits in January and February and is typically moving out by March. This means, it's time to buckle down the hatches for snow, ice, and other gross weather.

However, there are still fun things to do in the winter.

Here's a few things for winter fun:

1. Go to the library and grab some books! Especially when the weather man is calling for a snowstorm. This way, you'll have something to do and you can don't really need electricity for it.

2. Make hot chocolate, sit by the fire, and binge watch a series on Netflix or Hulu. You're warm, cozy, and relaxed!

3. Go sledding-if it's snowed.

4. Go to a museum.

5. Go shopping.

6. Go somewhere different for dinner.

7. Pick up a new hobby (like knitting or calligraphy).

8. Winter cleaning (winter is a great time to go through all your clothes).

9. At home spa day.

10. Find a new indoor workout.

What are things you like to do in the winter?

xx,
Lindsey

Nine Potential New Member Sorority Recruitment Tips

Hi y'all!

August is quickly approaching, which for many means its back to school time. For college students elsewhere, it also means recruitment season is here!

My school did a spring recruitment (aka January); however, many schools, especially in the south, do recruitment in August and September.

If you're going through recruitment, congratulations!

I went through recruitment in two different ways (both formal and the colonization process) and then on the sister side! I went through part of recruitment my freshman year spring, got sick and couldn't finish. However, it worked out for the best because I got to join Alpha Delta Pi through the colonization process in September of my sophomore year.

Here are a few things to keep in mind.

1. Each house is different at every school. Did you hear about sorority XYZ at ABC University? Get that stereotype right out of your head. Every single house is different because different girls make up the chapter. I have friends that would t…

Welcome!

Hey!

Well, I'm finally doing it: committing to blogging. Again. I'm super excited to be jumping back into the blogging world after a hiatus. I attempted to blog under some other names, but nothing felt right. So, I figured my own name would be the best way to keep a blog that I loved.

I'm Lindsey. I'm a 20-something elementary school teacher with a passion for sharing things about life. I originally started blogging back at the end of my senior year of high school, and continued through college. Post grad life made it hard to balance everything (mainly because I was working full time and going to school again). However, I know that I'm going to need this blog.
As of right now, I have accepted my first full time "big girl job" in the field I'm passionate about. I'm teaching 5th grade this year, and I'm so excited! Along with my first teaching job, I'm also going to be working in retail part time and I'm taking one grad class.

I'm stil…
